Dec 2011 – Ulrich Bez says the V12 Roadster is coming in 2012

In December last year, automotive sites all over the world suddenly came with V12 Vantage Roadster news, most sites pointing to as the source. claims that mr. Aston Martin himself, dr. Ulrich Bez, confirmed to “one of their representatives” that the V12 Vantage Roadster would be introduced in 2012. The convertible edition of the V12 Vantage would feature a 6.0 liter V12 engine delivering 510 bhp, 570 Nm of torque and a top speed of 305 km/h, similar to it’s coupe brother. Continue reading

October 2011 – She’s got the looks: V8 Vantage S Roadster

Another year goes by. No sign of an Aston V12 Roadster, no announcements from Gaydon, no news, no spy shots, no rumors even.

But then something special appeared in my dealer’s showroom: a used (ex press car) V8 Vantage S Roadster. As usual with press cars, it was beautifully spec’d and full option: Stratus White with a dark-blue rag top and a dark blue / piano black interior, blue stitching, B&O system, the works…

September 2010 – can’t resist any longer -> my red V12 Vantage

Fast forward to mid 2010.
Still no V12 Vantage Roadster.

I was visiting my Aston Martin dealer and found they had a new V12 Vantage in their showroom, in freaking Fire Red! Ouch.

To my defense, I was able to resist buying it for 3 whole months. But then I caved…
And I have never regretted it. I still own and love this powerful beauty.

May 2009 – V12 Vantage Roadster spy shots at the Nürburgring

In May 2009, rumors flared up about a V12 Vantage Roadster being in the making.

On May 12, some spy shots were posted on, of a car that looked suspiciously like a V12 version of the V8 Vantage Roadster
(or a Roadster edition of the V12 Vantage).

The pics showed a dark-blue Vantage Roadster, clearly sporting several specific V12 Vantage elements: the carbon splitter at the front, the carbon diffuser and the slightly higher spoiler at the rear, the wide and sharp edged sills on the sides.
Everything but the carbon fibre louvres in the bonnet and the V12 specific rims.
